Business meeting in "style"

On Saturday the 12th March I had the pleasure of visiting the Leonard Heeley Conclave on behalf of our Intendant General.

The meeting was opened in great style by the M P S, P Kt Stuart Blagg, who went to conduct the whole of the "Business of the Conclave in the same manner, not a book in sight and a pleasure to witness.

Ill Kt Ray Pye and P Kt Stuart Blagg.

After having opened the Conclave the Most Puissant Sovereign ask the Worthy Knights to remember P Kt William John Charles Roberts, P Div Stwd, who had passed to "Higher Services in December just after the last meting. P Kt Robert was Installed in the St George's Conclave No 42 in 1994, becoming a joining Member of Leonard Heeley after St George's moved to Chorley, in 2011. Although he had of course had a long connection with Leonard Heeley whilst the two Conclaves met together at Wigan.

The Emminent Viceroy, E Kt John Selley was declared Most Puissant Sovereign Elect and W Kt John Karran, Viceroy Elect. Both will have the great pleasure of being Enthroned and Consecrated, on the 50th Anniversary of the Conclave being formed 50 years ago, in November.

Then along came Ill Kt Ray Pye, P G Div W of Reg, who delivered his own produced lecture on one of the historical character of our Order, “St Helena". I had heard this lecture before, but I can assure you that it lost none of is impact on me a second time around, and the Worthy Knights of the Conclave showed their appreciation and admiration enthusiastically at the end. P Kt Blagg thanked Ill Kt Pye for his efforts followed by another hearty round of applause.

After closing the Conclave all retired to the dinning room for lunch which was very good humoured, friendly and convivial. I went out to enjoy myself, this was achieved and as someone once said "an hour or two spent with friends is an hour or two well spent"
